JetAlliance Increases its Jet Fleet of Green Machines:
Another Embraer Phenom 100 Arrives in California
(January 8, 2010) San Diego, CA— JetAlliance, the leading very
light jet (VLJ) firm, has added another Embraer Phenom 100 to its
dynamic fleet of green jets. It arrived today and is now at its home
in San Diego. VLJ aircraft (which include the Phenom 100, the
Citation Mustang and the Eclipse 500) have the greatest fuel
efficiency of any available jets. They are also the quietest.
JetAlliance has based these aircraft throughout Southern California
for shared-ownership and charter.
The innovative Phenom 100 was built based on “four vital principles:
easy operations, simple maintenance, outstanding reliability and
extended economic life.” The Phenom 100 boasts the largest cabin in
its class in addition to being a top performer. It has a range of
1,355 miles (1,178 nautical miles) and reaches cruising speeds of
448 miles per hour (390 knots).
Additionally, the new technology Pratt & Whitney engines are
superbly fuel efficient making their carbon imprint significantly
less than the other jet classes.
JetAlliance prides itself on using the most fuel-efficient jets
available. Burning as little as 60 gallons per hour, the Eclipse 500
creates a significantly smaller carbon footprint than similar
operations in other private jets such as the Citation X at 600
gallons per hour. In fact, the gas mileage of the Eclipse 500 and
other aircraft in the very light jet category rivals that of a
typical SUV, but the benefits are superior. Cruising at 425 miles
per hour, an Eclipse 500 covers 1295 miles without a fuel stop.
“Not long ago, it was considered cool to drive a large SUV and not
so cool to drive a little Prius” said Randall Sanada, JetAlliance’s
Chairman. “Today it is just the opposite. And as we recently
observed when the three automaker CEO’s visited congress, it is
wasteful to arrive in a big inefficient private jet. Had those CEO’s
flown together in one of our VLJ’s it would have been at less than
one tenth the cost. You could say that the VLJ is the Prius of the
sky.”
JetAlliance has been serving California owners and charter
customers since it took delivery of the world’s first production VLJ,
Eclipse 500 serial #1 in 2006. As JetAlliance expands its service
of green jets it is working to further neutralize its carbon
footprint by funding clean energy and greenhouse gas reductions
projects throughout the U.S. in conjunction with TerraPass. The
JetAlliance opt-in program for its owners and charter customers was one of the first in
the industry. When scheduling their
flight, passengers are able to choose to offset their carbon
footprint by purchasing TerraPass offsets based on time of air
travel.
The JetAlliance aircraft are offered for ownership and charter in California
and throughout the western region. As VLJs continue to prove themselves as efficient and comfortable
private jet options, their usefulness and demand will continue to
increase. VLJs serve everyone from the full owner, to those with a
shared ownership interest, to the charter passenger on a tight
schedule.
With a growing fleet of VLJs, JetAlliance’s aircraft management
experience benefits its shared-owner group as well as the fleet’s
charter customers who have the opportunity to be better stewards of
their finances and their time. The advantages of owning an aircraft
are increased by being part of a managed fleet that is assisted by
economies of scale and the opportunity for charter revenue.
JetAlliance has partnered with TerraPass to help its private
aircraft owners balance out the global warming impact of their air
travel.
