Delivery Imminent: World’s 1st Production Very Light Jet

Jet-Alliance Eagerly Awaits its First Aircraft Delivery

September 7, 2006 – Westlake Village, CA – Jet-Alliance is gearing up for operations to commence and is pleased to provide the following company UPDATE now that Type Certification and first deliveries are only a days away for the Eclipse 500 Jet.


The last month and a half has been a remarkable time for Jet-Alliance. On Sunday, July 23rd, the world’s first production Very Light Jet (VLJ) aircraft, sporting tail number N508JA, (JA for Jet Alliance), took its maiden flight. The jet flew for 1.5 hours while climbing to its maximum altitude of 41,000 feet and reached Mach 0.62. John Keiser was Pilot in Command for its first flight and all systems were operated multiple times without any flaws.

Eclipse Aviation Corporation received provisional type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on July 27, 2006, at the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI, the world’s greatest air show in General Aviation. The company expects to receive the full type certificate for the Eclipse 500 jet in mid-September allowing for day/night, Visual Flight Rules (VFR)/Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), single-pilot and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums (RVSM) operations throughout the complete operating envelope, and enable the company to start delivering Eclipse 500s to customers.
 


Shortly after the FAA provisional certification ceremony in Oshkosh, Jet-Alliance’s first jet, sporting tail number N508JA, was featured in a “showcase” flight. Randall Sanada, President of Jet-Alliance said, “We are most pleased with the progress Eclipse is making and honored to be a part of this historic occasion. To be here and watch our jet take its first public flight was an incredible moment, not to mention meeting dignitaries like Marion Blakey (FAA Administrator), Maria Cino (Acting Secretary of Transportation) and Harrison Ford.” Additional pictures from Oshkosh can be viewed via the following link:
